back to school!

i don’t know about you, but i heart school. always have. loved, elementary, middle, high, and college. just can’t get enough (although after this degree, i am donzo!) i get all excited knowing that all the little ones are starting a new adventure with another year. so fun!

so in celebration of school i wanted to join jessica @ happy together and do her little school supplies project! something simple but cute and practical!

new adventure.

husband and i took a trip downtown to visit another birthing center today. fell in love. this is definitely a new adventure for us…along with our first baby! we haven’t made our decision yet as to who we are going to go with but i am so excited. i fell in love with this midwife. she’s been doing it for 36 years! i think she knows what she’s doing. this is a huge decision to make and i just wanted to share a little bit with y’all! will definitely let y’all know what we do and of course the whole experience with it.

also got a new watch today! 12 bucks. can’t complain. i made the mistake of letting my niece play with my last watch and now i can’t find it. ha.

ps. this is my fav drink of the moment. :) barely has any caffeine so i am good to go. and it’s called peace tea. who doesn’t want to drink that?! what’s your favorite drink??

first home project.

i actually had the energy to do a project around the house! there are tons of projects to do but clearly i tackled the bathroom first. actually it was the closet :) which was fun but nothing to post about.

here’s the before pic in the bathroom. i’m an organized person but just didn’t have the time, and husband was not happy about that section. it is right in front of the main mirror in the bathroom so there’s no escaping it’s craziness.

so i made the super long field trip to ikea and bought these simple yet useful canvas organizers. they’re 2 for 3 bucks. i wanted to decorate them somehow since white was a little boring. got some felt and glued the words on them. hair=head bands, wraps, etc. skin=lotions, perfumes, face=face wash, lotion, neck=necklaces, wrist=bracelets….you get the point :)

here’s the after! it’s a lot better than before but not sure if husband likes it. ha. hope everyone has a great day!!! tomorrow is friday. yay!!!

3 new bows, a ring, and a bag

wanted to share some new lovelies.

these two were the ones i got at renegade from elsie

had a lil inspiration and some random tweed hanging around and made my own!

also made a big tweed ring! this is my fav. :)

and super excited about my new bag….i guess tweed was my theme this week. got it at a thrift store for 2 bucks. score!

finished the day off with a field trip with molly panda to starbuckles to get husband and i a much needed caramel frap…which i haven’t had in ages…and it was amazing.

enjoying the wind blowing in her face.

*date night tonight! yay. hope everyone has a great weekend!! looking forward to a big crawfish boil tomorrow! woohoo.

new home for the earrings

so i don’t have that many earrings, but i do have enough that i have to dig my way through them to find the matching pair. clearly needed a new place for them. (realized i have a few of my bestie’s earrings as well) :)

i also had 3 grease splatter screens. i don’t know about you but i don’t use 3 of them.

so i took one and spray painted it! i only did the screen part since i knew i was going to cover up the handle.

gave the handle some fanciness. started at the screen end and worked my way down the handle. hot gluing spots every now and then.

wrapped all the way around, but make sure to leave the very end open so you can use that to hang it up.

found this bow i made awhile back and added a bobby pin to the back.

seems fitting for the summer. and since it’s just pinned on there you can change out the bow to fit your mood or season. :)

time to add your earrings!

hang it up and yay! not only is it all nice and organized, but it’s pretty too! :) i’d love to see what others have done with the splatter screens…have a great day!!!

sunshine and a button

today was an errand day. but i made a couple of fun things in between. gotta be a little girlie each day. ;)

inspired by this super hot weather…

on another note i want to give a shout out to husband and his hard work of cleaning out the balcony closet that i have been wanting to help with for sooo long. :)

didn’t know it was going to turn into this..

but i did find these awesome socks!!! haha. love. them.

and a fun oregon hat! great for lazy hair days!

gotta love new shoes.

plain jane heels = $1 at garage sale.

why might someone buy an old and worn out pair of heels? well i don’t know. they were $1. come on now. all they need is some tlc….as in some permanent markers, some yarn, and a little inspiration. that’s all! :)

earrings = my inspiration.

i love them!

now this isn’t the classiest way to fix the heel but works for me! i just wrapped yarn around like i did on my orchid flower pot!

i almost covered the whole thing with flowers….ha. might have been just a bit too much. who knows…it might have been super cute! someone should try it!

i shall enjoy wearing my $1 new shoes. :) off to spend more time with husband today! yay for saturdays!!! everyone have a blessed day!
