first off. found this salt n pepper pair….for 62 cents. makes them even cuter. even though i don’t use salt and pepper that much…i still had to have them. megan turns 5
this weekend was a fun one! went to my niece’s 5th birthday party!
hubs and i
went out with the hubby to a benefit event and to support our friend bobby at the fashion show!

hung out with beautiful charissa AND got to wear my dress that i have owned for a few years and only worn twice now. success :)

spent allll day up at church today…9:30am-6pm. the youth room looks amazing. :) but now my body aches. uber tired.

i have a bunch of feathers i want to do something with…hmm. these pics are fun. although i can’t see myself walking around the grocery store with a bunch of feathers in my hair. but hey….it’d be fun. :)

the girls and i tie dyed shirts today! well…i pretty much did most of it since there wasn’t enough gloves for them…and they were too big for them too…ha. i think i scared them from getting dye on their hands because i said it won’t come off for a loooong time. ;) didn’t really matter though because 3/4 of my fingers are blue and pink….hmm. can’t wait to see how they turn out!!

oh and this has been my fav snack of the week. i used to not cut my oranges this way….man have i been missing out. this is sooo much easier and tastes better i think. whatever works to get me eating more fruit. haha. oh and raspberries=all time fav fruit. :)

this has been an interesting week, but i just want to say thanks for everyone! family, friends, followers, and readers. i am loving the love and the inspiration. so thanks! means a lot. i have a feeling the Lord is going to be working through my life even more these next several weeks. looking forward to that! going to see a play tonight! some of the youth are in it so i am excited to see what they have been working so hard on!…..**giveaway! :)

cozy home for my phone.

another knitting project to help me not forget how to do it. :) i am still learning!

i just started knitting…not really knowing what i was going to make. ha (this pic was from another camera so not the best color)

so then i decided my phone needed a comfy cover. i already have a case for my phone which does wonders, BUT i wanted something more fun/girlie/crafty. :) i was going to do this another way, but i liked how it turned out. gotta learn from experience some how. :)

after i knitted enough rows to fit my phone i folded it and added some stitching on the outside (i was going to fold it inside out but i like the decorative stitches)

i don’t know how to crochet (just yet) so i just braided some yarn instead and stitched it through the back and tada…nice lil closing.

this wouldn’t be complete without lil pom poms. here’s a lil how to. i made my uber small…but another lovely kristen @ domestifluff has an easy to follow pom pom tutorial too!
wrap around finger
step 1: wrap around one finger [the bigger pom pom you want...the more fingers you can wrap around AND/OR the more times you wrap around your finger(s)]
tie wrap
step 2: slide it off your finger and tie another piece of yarn around the middle of the wrapped yarn.

step 3: cut the loops on both sides of the wrapped yarn.

step 4: fluff it up and trim to your liking. yay

step 5: i used the remainder of the middle tie yarn to tie around the end of the braids.
and yay. i think it turned out nicely. :)

i had a few mini photo albums laying around. the ones that are nice….but a little boring in style. but if you are like me and have a kagillion pics already and do not need any more albums laying around then there’s so much more to these little albums.
plain photo album
here’s one of them. simple, textured, off white album. not bad. BUT i decided to make it more of a journal, verse jotting album instead. i started a new bible study on thursday nights and this way i can use this lil one to help me keep my fav verses in. so instead of pics i will use note cards.

i didn’t really have a theme in mind, but i thought i would use these fun silk leaves. oh and the hot glue gun does wonders.

one of my things i want to work on is praying…(i listed a few more from a past post too!) so i dedicated this album to prayer and fav verses, and also to remind me of certain things or people to pray about! so if you need any, let me know!! :)

this is a great idea for those who are wanting to jot things down and keep it handy….in a cute little album. BUT these can be used for all sorts of favs like life quotes, movie quotes, fun jokes, even the daily to do lists.

just a peek…and a giveaway?!

ahhh…new week. cup of joe (new additions to our coffee mug collection). feeling good. this past week and weekend was ridiculous! ridiculously fun. so many events. here’s a tiny peek of what my life is like….outside of my work and school life (which make up a huge part of my life as well).

family birthday dinner for my sister in law, rachel. the girls made a sign for her :) then went home and FINALLY finished my two papers and successfully finished another term at school!!

had a little youth valentines get together on wednesday up at church and then thursday had our first field trip with the girls!! went to autumns house for a valentines craft party. the girls (megan and melissa) loved their cupcakes, and baby michelle was pulling herself up on everything and everyone..including ladies we just met. :)

yep….all three car seats fit in my little car. success. on the way home had to stop by my fav place, chick fil a, for some lunch. yummm.

also started a new womens bible study up at church on thursday nights. oh so excited!!! (took us an hour and a half to get to church because of the bad weather and traffic…wasn’t so happy about that, but we made it..barely) :)

we then jaunted on over to angel’s for open mic night and the hubs and his bff, bobby, played some songs. that’s always fun!

got a haircut!!! then went over to church and painted a fun scene on one of the kid’s church walls. the hubby designed this a long time ago and though it would be fun to use it. turned out pretty nice.

breakfast with the youth. girl’s day….painting nails, chick flicks (the proposal…oh man. i heart that movie. i laughed so much!) taught the girls how to make bows, made bracelets, and baked a ton of mini red velvet cupcakes and a cute red velvet heart cake…with homemade cream cheese icing. then off to celebrate another birthday for my girl corrie!!! had a good time with them. :)

valentine’s day!!! church was awesome. then spent the whooooole rest of the day with my love. he got me this oh so cute bag. he did well!! :) decided not to eat dinner and ate our homemade chocolate covered strawberries instead. haha (had some leftover melted chocolate, so we took made peanut butter ritz cracker sandwiches and then smothered them in chocolate….uh-mazing)…all the chocolate + and little bit of wine + super crazy busy week = i crashed at 8:45pm. hahah. what can i say….good week. :)

i heart you wednesday

hubby and i

whew….i finally finished up with this term at school. it was a long one, but it was one of my most interesting ones: religion and stress management. very useful courses in my life. i want to give a HUUUUGE love shout out to my hubby. he has helped me in soo many ways…it is unreal. i love him oh so much. sweet hubby

so now i get a week off in between terms and then just 3 more terms after that!!!!!! praise God.

i also want to give a shout out to Rachel over at One Pretty Thing! she has featured some of my work and i am oh so thankful for her too! go check out her work. she features so many awesome bloggers. great for inspiration too!

this past weekend was crazy busy but fun….super bowl=had a fun get together with the church family ate lots of food and knitted. :) i had my priorities straight..haha. but at least it sparked up conversations with some of the other ladies. :) i am working on a new project. my mom should be proud. working on knitting so i won’t forget! :)

i am excited to have some time to do more projects!!! valentine’s party with the youth group tonight!! lots of love! be back later! have a great wednesday!!!

spray paint fun.

blue boots

so i have a pair of boots that i have had for quite some time now, and they are WHITE. i mean white. ha. i am pretty sure i have not worn them too much because they are just…white. not hating on white, but i guess it’s just not my color.

before shot of the boots. i heart them. i got them in london when i was interning with a fashion designer…la petite salope…so they are precious to me and i didn’t want to get rid of them even if i didn’t ever wear them. haha. there’s the pack rat in me.

step 1: so first off i did some taping around the bottom part of the shoe. all i had was duct tape, which works great. i figured there wasn’t a pretty way to go about doing this but i tried. in fact my hubby called it ghetto. so call it what you want…it still works. :)

step 2: more taping. i taped the inside of the shoe just in case…again, doesn’t have to look pretty.

step 3: since my boots are flimsy i stuck some random newspaper that i had laying around for stuff like this to make it stay propped up.

step 4: shake up the spray paint for a bit…test it out on some newspaper to make sure. put on some fun music and then go for it!!

step 5: i did one side at a time, but you can do it all at once. let it dry…the can says about 10-12 minutes to dry but depends on the surface and how much paint you spray. if you feel they need another coat then spray away.

step 6: once they are dry, you can take out the newspaper and take off the duct tape and yay! brand new shoes that i will actually wear! :)
